Frequently Asked Questions

We have put together some of our most frequently asked questions to help our clients. If you still have questions and it is not answered below, please call us and we would be happy to help / assist you with your questions.

Every case is different but as a guide, smile makeovers can take as little as two to three appointments over a two week period.

However, if you need them earlier, we can liaise with our leading laboratory in New York to get your smile with us sooner.

Veneers are custom made to correct your unique dental problems.

Therefore we invite you to book a complimentary consultation with Dr. Mervyn Druian.

He will assess your smile and devise a suitable treatment plan for you.

During this consultation, Mervyn will also talk about fees and answer any questions you may have.

We also offer interest free extended payment options, which can be discussed with our receptionists after your consultation.

We practise “minimalist dentistry,” therefore, in the majority of cases the tooth structure is not at risk.

Generally speaking, less than half a millimetre is removed from the front of the tooth.

This is to allow room for the veneer and to make sure the porcelain is strong enough to protect the treated area.

Porcelain veneers are just like natural teeth and should be brushed and flossed daily.

However, we will provide you with after care advice following your treatment, ensuring that your smile stays beautiful and white.

Routine dental exams and cleanings are also essential and many of our patients have veneers going back twenty years plus.

Dr Mervyn Druian is one of the founding members and current secretary of the British Dental Bleaching Society (BDBS).

This is a group of dentists who are lobbying for stricter guidelines, so only dental professionals can perform a tooth whitening treatment.

Find out about teeth whitening.

Our advice to you is always go to a dental professional if you are going to have your teeth whitened.

To our knowledge, no evidence has ever been documented where a tooth whitening (from a dental professional) has damaged teeth.

Recent research of the Nu Radiance Duet whitening system has shown that there are no changes to the tooth surface from this treatment.

We have come across no literature showing any structural changes or irreversible damage to the tooth structure.

Dental bleaching has been undertaken safely for the past 60 years.

The colour will remain stable for approximately two years or more.

Once again, this is down to your home care.

If you are smoker or have a tendency to eat and drink heavily coloured foods, your whitening results won’t last as long.

Usually one appointment of one hour is all that’s needed. Click here to see if you are suitable.

A further appointment may be required but only in exceptional cases.

Veneers are the perfect choice for those who want to correct slightly crooked teeth or to close gaps between the teeth.

You could be leaving our clinic with a brand new smile from only £50 pcm* with our special finance packages.

If your teeth are more crooked and / or you need to correct your bite, then invisible braces like Invisalign are the answer.

For straight teeth in as little as a couple of months, Dr Mervyn Druian recommends Invisalign.

We are strong believers in preventative treatment.

We recommend that everyone has a check up at least once a year and a minimum of three trips a year to your hygienist.

Not only are we concerned about the health of your gums and teeth, but dentists are trained to spot oral cancer signs, which if caught early, has a 90% success rate.

We offer general dentistry treatments. See what’s available.
