Our expert dentists will assess your teeth, mouth and gums to determine your suitability for porcelain veneers. Previous issues with your oral health, or past dental treatments, can affect whether you’re right for them, but we will discuss all the essentials during your consultation appointment.  

Your dental veneers price will vary, depending on how many you have fitted, your overall oral health, and whether any additional dental treatments are needed for the porcelain veneers to be fitted.

Our team members have years of experience under their belt, and if porcelain veneers are not suitable for you there are a number of other options and solutions to explore. We will work with you to find a treatment that you are happy with, in order to get you the best results.

Part of the process of fitting porcelain veneers involves preparing your natural teeth first. This involves shaving the teeth down slightly so that the veneer can be placed on the front of each tooth. At The London Centre for Cosmetic Dentistry, we strive to preserve as much of your natural tooth as possible, but this may be affected by your oral health and previous dental treatments. 

After your initial consultation, we estimate around two to three appointments before your brand-new smile is ready to show the world. The length of time does depend on your availability and whether any other necessary dental treatment is necessary. 

Your first appointment involves a digital scan and an assessment of your teeth, mouth and gums. You’ll work with your dentist to determine how you want your porcelain teeth to look. 

Your second appointment is to fit your temporary veneers, which will remain for a couple of weeks. This gives you a good idea of how the veneers will look and feel, and you’ll have an opportunity to request any changes before the final, permanent fitting..

Your third appointment is when your permanent porcelain veneers are fitted. If you are having upper and lower veneers fitted, then this may span two appointments.

Absolutely. Your second appointment is for fitting temporary veneers, which will remain for two weeks at least, and give you a brilliant idea of how the real thing will look. This is your chance to note about changes you’d like to the colour and shape of your veneers. 

It’s difficult to provide a definitive answer to this question, as it varies by patient. But the right aftercare is crucial. The timeframe will depend on things like your general oral health, your diet, your smoking status, and whether or not you grind your teeth. Bear in mind, some regular patients at The London Centre for Cosmetic Dentistry have had their veneers in for 15 years, and they still look and feel great.

Maintain good oral hygiene
You should brush your teeth twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste, and floss and use mouthwash once a day to keep tooth decay and gum disease at bay.

Be mindful of staining
Watch your intake of things that stain your teeth, such as red wine, black tea, and coffee. And it goes without saying you should give up smoking, if you are a smoker and haven’t already.

Don’t miss dental exams and hygiene appointments
You should be getting a general check-up once a year, and visiting the hygienist every 3 to 4 months for a proper professional clean. That way, any issues can be picked up early and dealt with promptly.

Consider wearing a night guard for sleeping
A night guard is helpful if you have a tendency to grind your teeth. If this is the case, you should get fitted for a night guard, which will prevent your porcelain veneers from being worn down over time in the same way it would for your natural teeth.
