Dr Druian and Porcelain Veneers
In 1983, Dr Mervyn Druian was the first ever UK dentist to introduce the practice of porcelain veneers to the country.
Ever since, Dr Druian has been recognised by his peers as one of the leading innovators, and is often heralded by beauty editors as “the leading expert in cosmetic dentistry”. Porcelain Veneer Treatment Process
At LCCD, our highly skilled experts will work with you to design a treatment based on your unique needs over a few weeks, with a maximum of three appointments.
You can read about the process in step-by-step detail here.
Appointment One – Your Consultation for Dental Veneers
Every patient looking for traditional porcelain veneers begins with a consultation with our experienced and approachable cosmetic dentist.
In the consultation, we will discuss what you feel your dental issues are and what type of smile you are seeking. The dentist will check your oral health and suggest the best treatment for you – taking into account any preferences you might have.
When creating a beautiful smile to fit the individual, there are many aspects that we take into consideration, including:
- The amount of “dark space” when you smile
- The line angles and symmetry of the smile
- Your age and muscular facial structure
- Your physiognomy – your individual features and expressions
All of which helps us to design a dental veneer that covers chipped or damaged teeth while also maintaining a natural appearance.
We’ll then take a 3D scan of your teeth and send the impressions to our carefully selected laboratory.
Appointment Two – Temporary Veneers are Applied
Taking on board everything discussed at your first appointment, we will then create exceptional-looking temporary veneers London which are then fitted.
These temporary cosmetic veneers give you a fantastic visualisation and preview of your new smile while also allowing you to make further adjustments for your final porcelain veneers.
This opportunity to control how your new smile will appear, which means it is much more likely you will be thrilled with the final result and that it reflects your face and personality properly.
You will wear your temporary veneers for around two weeks while your permanent set is crafted bespoke to your needs.
Appointment Three – Your Final Veneers Procedure
In your final visit to the clinic, we will focus on fitting your permanent veneers.
Our experienced dentist will focus on tooth preparation and fit each veneer – ensuring it is securely bonded to your teeth, before going through our clear aftercare guidelines with you.
You can then walk out of the practice with your beautiful new smile and join our legion of highly satisfied veneer patients.
Treatment Options
If you are looking for a way to improve your tooth colour or correct flaws in your smile, there are a few types of dental veneers you can consider. These include:
How do porcelain dental veneers correct chipped or damaged teeth?
Cosmetic dental veneers were designed to cover a wide range of aesthetic concerns while leaving the patient free to live life normally.
As such, the ultra-thin shells of porcelain cover the front surface of the teeth, helping to give a natural-looking smile that is whiter, brighter, and more even.
But how can cosmetic dentists do it?
- Living with broken teeth?
If you have chips, cracks, or broken teeth, veneers will be applied to cover the affected tooth, restoring the size, shape, and appearance of damaged teeth – while also bringing a brighter smile.
- Fed up with hiding your wonky smile?
The process is the same if you are living with malocclusion and your teeth are crooked and out of alignment. Once applied, veneers can help you achieve a more aligned and improved smile – one that you will want to show off!
- Unhappy with your stained teeth?
Porcelain veneers can also help with this! Once in place, each dental veneer will correct the appearance of discoloured teeth – especially if traditional whitening procedures can’t help, as it is due to genetics or antibiotics. The veneers can cover the natural tooth colour and give you a brighter healthier-looking smile.
But that’s not even the biggest benefit!
Unlike other dentists, our skilled veneer dentists fit porcelain dental veneers with minimal preparation or enamel removal – helping to keep your teeth as healthy and strong as possible.
At LCCD, your oral health is our priority and where available we focus on minimal preparation of your teeth, preserving as much of your tooth as possible. We also work with you from the very beginning to achieve the smile you want, instead of opting for the ultra-white and less natural ‘Hollywood look’ as standard.
With our dental veneers, your input is paramount and every veneer is designed with your preferences in mind – ensuring you are 100% happy at the end of your smile makeover.
