Preventative Dentistry

A beautiful smile is a healthy one, so always prioritise your oral health by turning to preventative dentistry. The future you will thank yourself later.

Preventative dentistry and oral hygiene

If you want a bright, white smile and healthy teeth and gums, it is vital that you maintain good oral hygiene to prevent potential problems from occurring in the future. Preventative dentistry is a vital part of your present dental care, and visiting a preventative dentist is the first step towards your brighter and whiter future.

We here at the London Centre for Cosmetic Dentistry offer a range of preventive dental services, including: oral hygiene instruction, scaling (deep cleaning), polishing, fluoride application and fissure sealants (a protective plastic coating applied to the biting surfaces of the back teeth). It is recommended you visit a hygienist every three months as part of your preventative dental care in order to maintain good oral health.

We believe our hygienists and preventive dentists play a key role in your overall oral health. They can see the first signs of a dental problem before it becomes a bigger issue, which could save you from needing further dental treatment in the future. This ‘act now’ way of thinking will ultimately help save your teeth and also save you money.

Why choose LCCD for preventative dentistry?

As well as being a cosmetic dental practice we also focus on dental preventive services. We believe that in order to truly benefit from cosmetic dental treatments and have a beautiful smile, you need to maintain good oral health.

Our very own preventative dentists, Dr Leonard Fox and Dr Mervyn Druian have years’ of experience in preventative dentistry. Our patients and indeed dentists, attend our practice for all their routine dental requirements. When visiting our practice you will have a thorough dental examination, many patients have been visiting us regularly for over 20 years and their teeth and gums remain as healthy as ever.

The key to retaining your teeth for life is the health of your gums.

Our team of hygienists are perfectly trained in helping our patients achieve this. When you come to the practice for your preventative dentistry, you will have your gums and soft tissues thoroughly examined as part of our dental examination and a tailored plan developed for you to achieve optimal oral health.

As part of your routine dental examination, we perform a mouth cancer screening. Many mouth cancers go undetected in their very early stages, as they are almost invisible to the untrained eye, therefore it is vital that you have regular check-ups with your preventive dentist. If caught early, 9 out of 10 cases are curable.

If you find visiting the dentist a stressful experience, we can help. Here at The London Centre for Cosmetic Dentistry we have introduced a ground-breaking treatment called NuCalm® – enabling you to have a stress free appointment with us.

Non-Surgical Periodontal

The health of your gums is extremely important, as they provide a foundation for the teeth. If the gums are decayed, compromised, or left untreated, tooth decay and tooth loss can result.

At The London Centre for Cosmetic Dentistry, we are able to provide our patients with brilliant results, non-surgically. Our laser-free periodontal treatment can help restore the health and strength of the gums while allowing our patients to enjoy minimal downtime post-treatment.

Your oral health and general health

It is important to maintain good oral health to keep your teeth and gums in the best possible condition. Maintaining healthy teeth and gums keeps your smile shining brightly and looking whiter for longer. Good oral health can also impact your general health, as well. Maintaining good oral hygiene helps in preventing potential problems from occurring in the future. Visiting dental preventive services should be an important part of all of our lives.

When your gums are chronically inflamed bacteria can enter your bloodstream and spread to other parts of your body. Some conditions linked to gum disease include: heart disease, diabetes, arthritis and pre-term births in pregnant women.

We have an expert team of dental hygienists here at The London Centre for Cosmetic Dentistry, who are here to help you avoid oral issues such as dental cavities, gum disease, and bad breath. We do this by offering a range of individually tailored preventive treatments to suit your specific needs and requirements.
